The IMS CharacterGenerator StudioTM product is a companion multimedia-authoring tool Xtra created specifically for Macromedia. Director.. This product allows the user to easily create animated 3D talking characters and incorporate them as part of any multimedia presentation or application created using Macromedia Director. Once the product has been installed, all the user needs to do is choose a character they wish to animate, record or select a sound file to be analyzed, and the character will come to life and begin speaking automatically, including all of the appropriate facial gestures. Characters are animated entirely from the voice file, and voice files of any language, including those created with a text-to-speech engine can be used to create talking characters animations. The product includes several standard 3D characters, however, the user can create additional custom characters using the IMS CharacterCreator application.
With the IMS CharacterGenerator StudioTM product, multimedia developers can now easily integrate 3D talking characters as part of any interactive presentation or application on DVD or CD-ROM. Talking characters can now be easily created to serve as web site hosts, interactive virtual agents as part of a kiosk system, or be used as part of targeted direct marketing messages.
