The concept which in itself was unusual for the time gave this name to the car.
It was liked by taxi drivers, gangsters and policemen. The car was very
successful: its production has had constant modernization from 1934 to 1957.
It brought more sensational innovations, such as: an independent torsion
suspension of all wheels, easily removed "wet" sleeves of cylinders,
a forward drive with an engine behind the axis of forward wheels and with a
gear box in front of the axis. This kind of design was applied on many
subsequent models of Citroen.
